Zoo Day!

Noah took his first trip to the zoo yesterday. The husband asked if he had fun and my response was, "I guess." I think he mostly had a good time being out of the house and seeing something new because it certainly wasn't because of the animals. You have to get to the exhibits at the right time otherwise it's already too hot in the day and the big animals are sleeping (lions, tigers, etc.). Most of the exhibits, Noah was too busy looking at waterfalls, random birds (not the zoo birds) or other kids so he wasn't exactly prone to look at the actual animal on display.

We did have fun overall though. Noah's Aunt and two cousins came with us and since Grandma has the week off she was happy to come as well as Grandpa who played hookey from work for the morning to make it too. In the end it was very nice to have the adults outnumber the kids.

I think Noah's favorite part of the zoo...the birds. At least some bird is always squawking, flapping it's wings or doing something to garner attention. We were able to get up close to the flamingos and our zoo has an exhibit with parakeets and other small birds housed in an area that you can walk through and let them eat out of your hands or sit on your finger. So that was probably his highlight of the day.

All the excitement however kept him awake during our entire visit. We had barely been back in the car driving for a minute and he was immediately asleep. Big day for a little guy.

And of course what trip with the grandparents would be complete without a photo!

Plus, check out Noah's new kicks!
